Sadie's Half Birthday

Sadie is 6 months. HAPPY HALF BIRTHDAY! We did absolutely nothing special for the occasion. Just the way we like it ;) Lol. But really, what do you do for a baby's half birthday?! Okay So this month has been fun.

  • Sadie started getting up and rocking on her hands and knees at the very beginning of the month and she was so ready to start crawling. She was moving all over the place, but it wasn't really purposeful, just wherever her little body would move.
  • The day before she turned 6 months she started pulling herself towards objects and it was awesome! She's so stinking strong. It's  not a true crawl yet, because she falls down between each movement. Haha.
  • She also started sitting up this past month.
  • She wants to be right in on the action with her siblings.
  • She started waking up like 6 times a night (NOT an exaggeration), and it felt like death. UGH. The other two never did this, so it's hard. I realize I may be spoiled where that's concerned, but I really need her to go back to sleeping. :)
  • She enjoys applesauce and rice cereal and drinking the smoothies we make in the morning out of a straw. It's so dang cute.
  • She stopped throwing up completely without her medication last week, but then started again. I'm not sure what to think about that.

  • Sadie is 55% for weight and 74% for height. Such a huge step from her 2 month appointment when she was in the 10th for weight.
  • She's happy these days and such a delight to kiss on. SHE LOVES BEING KISSED. :)

Love this little cutie, full of smiles and curiosity. She is a people person and loves everyone...but she REALLY loves her mommy.

That stare down though (Quite common)

Adored!

A Sadie of 5 Months

My little love bug
  • LOVES everyone. Smiles and adores and watches.
  • She watches wherever brother and sister go.
  • She is laughing for us on occasion, and it's just the best.
  • She gets up on her hands and Knees. Today I even caught her planking!
  • She has taken to some spitting up episodes recently, but still happier than ever with her Acid Reflux medication.
  • She loves nursing and cuddling in bed and waking up ready to go for the day at 5:30, much to my disapproval.
  • Her favorite toy is her feet.
  • She's scooting (minorly), and rolling like crazy. You don't always find her in the same place you put her.
  • She's drooling like crazy too. I think she has a few teeth that are ready to make their debut soon!
  • I LOVE her eyes. Today they look silver. Other days, I don't even know. They're just beautiful though.
  • She loves being held or sitting up in the bumbo.

She's acting too old and I don't like it. Where have the last 5 months gone?! Breaks my heart, but I love it at the same time. I know I always say it, but it is true. Some stages just don't last long enough.

P.s. You'll probably see her in these overalls a lot. It is my favorite outfit of hers right now. :)

1st Halloween
Her size dollhouse.

Loves getting her hair combed.
Sleepy sleepy.

Happy 2nd Birthday Tyson!

My boy. 2 years old. This kid has a very special place in my heart. Probably because I feel like I make a better "Boy mom" than "girl mom." I'm a work in progress.

I almost titled this post "The boy who feels, Happy Birthday Tyson!" I went back and forth on it. But here I am explaining away. When I see Tyson playing, and interacting with people I can tell he just feels so much! He's got so much in him and he's trying to get it all out. He's very wild moment, and calm and cuddly the next. He can go from smacking everything and throwing things (just because he thinks its fun) to loving and hugging and kissing everyone in the next moment. He feels. The whole ray of emotions. I love it! He's probably the most like me that I can tell thus far.

He's unpredictable and independent. I never know if it's going to be one of those times where he begs and begs for me to hold him or hold his hand and won't walk until it happens, or if it will be one of those times where I can't get him to hold my hand even with some of my best convincing and pleading. Haha.

He always has something in his mouth. Whether it be his fingers, his toys, his shirt, or some food. It is funny.

Things I love about Tyson:

  • I love the way he says "Thank you momma" after I have given him a compliment. It just feels so sincere.
  • I love when he squeezes my cheeks and gives me kisses.
  • I love how when he tells me things it is with such emotion and deepness. I can hardly explain it, but he really lets you know how he feels. :)
  • I love that he talks so well. It makes it really fun to enjoy his whole personality.
  • I love that he loves his sisters.
  • I love that he tries to be so helpful all the time.
  • I love that he sucks his thumb and strokes his eye just like his big sister.
  • I love watching him dance and be silly.
  • I love when he and Kinley laugh really hard for a long time together.
  • I love when he wants to fall asleep next to me in my bed.
  • I love that he loves to eat. Haha.
  • I love that he will choose to sit and relax watching a book over doing almost anything else.
  • I love hearing him sing church songs and nursery rhymes.
  • I love hearing him pray.
  • I love his fire and zest and sweetness!!!!

This boy is just all around lovely and wonderful. We are working on the no biting thing. ;)

Love you little Tyse-Tyse baby (sing to 'ice-ice baby'). Thanks for picking me.

    NB & 1-2 yrs!

    4 Months of Sadie Jean

My little baby aint quite so baby anymore. She's growing up fast.

    • Laughing, OH I LOVE the laughs. She's ticklish, which makes it fun.
    • Grabbing at things and being aware of objects in front of her. It has made it so much easier to set her down on the ground and be able to entertain herself for a while.
    • She even tries to scoot her way towards objects. I just don't think she should be old enough to do anything but lay in the comfort of my arms.
    • Although difficult prior to starting acid reflux medication, it has done wonders for her. She still has hard moments. I wouldn't classify her as an "easy baby" but when that acid reflux isn't acting up she sure is easy to get a smile out of. She just looks so happy!
    • She's had several nights in a row in the last week and a half where she sleeps from about 7:30 until about 5. It is heavenly! It makes the times she wakes up before that super hard. Haha.
    • She loves having her brother and sister by her entertaining her...but doesn't love to be tugged on and jumped on (can't blame her).
    • She is "talking." Jibbering and jabbering and having little conversations with us that only she knows the meaning of. But I love it. :)
    • This is the longest I have made it breastfeeding without having to supplement. I think she is a really good eater and I'm glad we don't have to buy formula. Haha.
    • She has turned into a thumb sucker! I knew it was only a matter of time. But it is here now.
    • She's a gorgeous little lady. And we love her so!
Side note: She is so stinking WIGGLY! And she wants to stuff everything in her mouth. She constantly has something in her mouth or is trying to get something to her mouth. Hence, the picture. I have NEVER taken so many pictures for the monthly shot for any of my kids. But Sadie blew it out of the water. My goodness. She's a curious little creature. :)

    Cabin days!

    "MOM! They're bugging me again!"

    Pumpkin patch
    Thumb sucker

    Exhausting days.

    Fun days!

    3 Months of Sadie

3 Months down. The light is finally here. Admittedly, I have HARD babies. Fabulous night sleepers, but during the day it's constant tears and screaming and exhaustion. SO...

We started Sadie on Acid reflux medication a week and a half ago, and it has made ALL the difference in the world. She is happy, she is smiling, she is content to be set down, she is not throwing up while she is sleeping, and she's not screaming her lungs out during all hours of the day. It is beautiful. Poor girl. I knew she was in pain, and I'm glad she is finally starting to feel better. She suffered long enough. Now looking back, this is totally what Kinley & Tyson needed too. I just didn't know, because I thought babies were supposed to be hard. Well, they might be hard in some things...but crying for hours on end...I don't think it has to be that way.

She can roll over from her tummy to her back. She has been doing that one since she was about 6 weeks old...but usually just when she was SUPER angry. So I didn't really count it. But she is more consistent with it, so I figure it's not so much a fluke anymore. Haha. She is the wiggliest little worm.

I just barely switched her to 3 month clothing. I think the acid reflux medication is helping her gain some weight too, since she's not throwing up half her feedings.

She LOVES when people come and look her straight in the eyes and  just tell her stories. If she's having a rough time and I am in the middle of making lunch or dinner I'll have Kinley go sit by her and talk to her and it does the trick. The moment you walk away from her though, she starts crying. Haha. She loves attention I guess. :)

She is picking up on the thumb sucking like her two older siblings.

She goes to bed at 7:30 and sleeps usually until 2:30. But occasionally as long as 5:30.

She laughed for the first time last week. It was short and sweet and only once. But I love this stage! I'm sure she is going to get the most giggles from her sister and brother.

She got blessed the beginning of September which was exciting! Her Grandma Waters crocheted the dress and her Grandma Ball sewed the blanket. She looked BEAUTIFUL. It was a sweet experience, and I was so happy she didn't cry the whole blessing (this was prior to having her on medication).

Whelp that's it! Little one is loved and adored by all.

Sadie goes by: Sadie Baby most of the time. And Tyson wins for saying it the cutest.

Sadie, happy as ever. My contribution was the headband. And I ordered it from Etsy because I'm not nearly as talented as Grandma Ball & Waters.
Don't make fun of me for these pictures. Obviously I need practice on white details ;)
Look at that pretty 'S' Grandma Ball handmade!
Grandma Waters did a fabulous job on the dress!

    My little hooligans. :)
    Love these women!!!
    Love these men!
The Priesthood circle, minus our bishop.
    Our family is growing
I put my camera on rapid fire. It was hilarious to see her eyes start small and then get SUPER big from the loud noise. Ha.

    2 Months of Sadie Jean

2 Months in and I already think Sadie is my hardest kid. Hahaha. I don't know if it's made up, or reality. But I'm rolling with it right now.

Sadie sleeps usually from 9 until about 2:30. That seems to be the magic time she likes to wake up. And then after that, I honestly couldn't tell you what happened. Sometimes she sleeps until 6 sometimes until 7 or later. Other times, I feel like she never quite goes back into a deep sleep but instead shuffles back and forth until she finds me and snuggles up against me and it calms her just enough to pretend to sleep for a bit longer.

Sadie gives out her little grins very sparingly but is very generous with her cries. Lol. She enjoys being held A LOT. I can pretty much guarantee that I won't get to put her down and get anything done unless I want to hear her cry the entire time that chore is getting done. Sometimes I don't mind, other times, in all honesty, I feel like I might lose my mind. But I know this stage is very fleeting so I try to enjoy it no matter what is happening.

She specifically loves to be held facing out...she's not quite a cuddle bug unless we're in my bed.

She loves to be nursed to sleep. If nursing isn't happening, daddy is much better at getting her to sleep than mommy.

In the last week or so, if she is upset or sad and then she sees me she stops crying or fussing. I LOVE IT!!! It means she is recognizing me and that I am her safety. I love being that for my baby :)

She had a granulated belly button. I kept watching it and watching it, and noticed that it was never quite healing. I took her in with a suspicion that it was granulated, and the doc confirmed and put some stuff on it so it would dry up and go away. That's pretty much the most interesting thing that happened to her this month. Haha.

She took her first trip out of Las Vegas to go spend a week at Newport Beach. She was definitely a fan. It was a good week. :)

She is the pride and joy of her two older siblings who constantly ask, "Can I hold baby? Can I hold baby?" We love her very very MUCH! Kinley can't wait to have a baby that can walk. And I'm sure Tyson will be overjoyed when she's big enough for him to lay on top of her without getting in trouble. HAHAHA.

The pictures fool you. She doesn't sleep THAT much. I think I only get to take her picture when she's sleeping because otherwise I am holding her ;)
