5 months of Tyson

I wrote a couple of things down about Tyson as the month went on, and now looking at it, it doesn't seem like very much. I had to reference back to Kinley's 5 month post to see what I put for her. It didn't really help. Haha. They are the same as far as slobbering and being happy babies, but completely different in most everything else.

  • Tyson started eating real people food for the first time this month. His first dose was applesauce. He liked it ok. Then a couple days later he tried avocado. NOT a fan. He got a disgusted look on his face and just kept looking at me like, "Why do you keep trying to get me to eat this?!" Haha.
  • He has actually gotten pretty good at eating since then. Probably because he enjoys eating so much! My goodness does this boy eat and eat and eat. He drinks 8 oz at a time and then on top of that will eat some real food. Taylor fed him 8 oz one day and then fed him an entire jar of baby food. He's going to eat us out of our early retirement. ;)
  • He has been sleeping so amazingly well. Seriously. 12 hours at night, 6 hours during the day. Like clockwork. It is the best gift a child can give their parents. He's slowly letting up on not sleeping SO much, but still does great. Thank goodness.
  • He went on his first airplane ride. We went to California. Basically it was a big debate between flying or driving and this kid HATES being in his carseat. There is nothing but tears. He did WONDERFUL on the plane. Slept pretty much the whole way there and back. Lucky us. In a few weeks we won't be so lucky when we will be making the drive.
  • He loves to watch his sister and is easily entertained by her.
  • He drools and drools and drools what seems like all day long. Haha.
Tyson is a good little boy and we just love him to pieces. I wish I could say that I get to just stare at him all day long like I did with Kinley, but unfortunately that is not real life for a mom of two. It makes me sad, but I love both my kids so much!

Have I mentioned this kid does NOT smile for pictures no matter how much I bribe him? But he is full of smiles when he's playing with his momma, daddy, & sister.

Looks like we were 3 for 4 on the grandparent pictures this month. Not too shabby, but we can do better. Grandma Ball we are coming for you!!!

Sewing!

The title may make this post seem boring, but I have lots of pictures, mostly pictures!

This last weekend Taylor and I went to California for our sister-in-laws baby shower. Meagan, Taylor's sister (Not to be confused with my sister, Meghan), and I decided to make a sewing weekend out of it. We picked a ton of projects we wanted to do, and then got our fabric and got together to sew. We both sewed this toy dino that I refer to as the "ghetto dino" because mine didn't turn out super well. I think I suck at cutting out paper patterns. But then I got to the good stuff of making Kinley an apron, and it turned out FABULOUS if I do say so myself. I am kind of obsessed with these colors right now, so you will probably be seeing it in everything I sew for the next little bit. We were supposed to make stuffed elephants too, but ended up not having time for them because we got OOBERS distracted by making little drool bibs for our baby boys. They are seriously the cutest thing and just look like little scarves. I LOVE! They originally weren't on our sew to-do list, but after seeing some at a consignment sale we knew we had to have some of our own!!!

Now on to pictures.

CUUUUUTE!!!! My little model. Meagan, next time we will get Jakey!

Different angle this time.

I'm obsessed with buttons.

Binding is the death of me.

Cute girl enjoying her birthday present early, because I am not patient.

Taking it old school.

If it sounds like I am super incredibly proud of myself, it's because I AM! Hahaha. I spent a lot of time on this (And my fabulous mother-in-law dedicated an unreal amount of time giving me direction...praise be her name!) and I don't really consider myself a seamstress, although maybe now I should. ;) haha. Thanks for checking it out!

Oh to be 4 months old..

Tyson has a good little life. Probably the best. He gets fed, he gets to sleep, he gets all the attention his 3 family members have to offer.

This past month:

  • Little guy has started laughing, just a little bit. Not much, but when he does, we fall more in love with him!
  • WAY early in this month he started rolling over. I still don't think he has rolled over from his back to his stomach though.
  • He started sleeping longer stretches at the beginning of this month and by the end of it he was sleeping through the night. He was also putting himself to sleep. It makes being a mom so much easier when you are getting a full nights rest. :)
  • He is still quite the cuddle bug, LOVES to be held, but he enjoys falling asleep on his own, and has been a bit better about having some alone time.
  • There is not a thing on this earth that Tyson hates more than his car seat. He is improving with that one, but we still have quite a bit of work to do.
  • Overall he is a pretty mellow and content little fellow. As you can tell in his 4 month picture, he is pretty straight faced and not impressed by a whole lot. It takes a little bit of effort to get this kid to smile. Haha.
  • He does however love to watch his sister. He is so interested in the things that she is doing. I think that may be one reason he is so content most of the time. He has built in entertainment through Kinley.

And the spoils from this month:

Can you guess who he is watching?

I LOVE THEM!!!!

Every little boy needs some necklaces.

Sleeping, he's good at it!

At the park.

I really hope these two continue to be inseparable.

I love his face always!

Enjoying some tent time. "This is how you play with the toy Tyson."
