Happy 1st Birthday Tyson!

Tyson turned 1! Life has been CRAZY around here the last few weeks. So I am just sitting down for this. Late. Lame. I hate being lame about these things. But on the plus side, the day of his birthday we were busy celebrating and having fun with him, so I was distracted by actually being with him. I think that's better than writing his blog anyway.

  • I've said it before, but it is very true. Tyson LOVES to eat and drink. I canNOT sneak food into my mouth EVER without him whining and whining. I mean he seriously pouts if someone is eating without him. He's funny. And of course, that means he will eat anything and everything. Except avocados. He will still eat them, but he will gag them the whole way down.
  • Tyson isn't walking, but on his first birthday I got him to take maybe a step. Haha. I think it proves just how much he loves being held.
  • He loves playing in the bath time.
  • He loves his family super much much. He loves playing with kinley. He loves when his daddy comes home. And he loves being able to see his mommy at all times.
  • Tyson was in the 95th percentile for weight at his 1st year checkup, and he was in the 75th percentile for height. He is one BIG dude.
  • Tyson is super ticklish, and he is easy to get a big laugh at...but if you tickle him too much he just might start crying. So be careful.
  • He sleeps 13 hours a night and takes a solid 3 hour nap. Oh my word. It is HEAVEN! Although, there are some days that I feel like I haven't even been able to hang out with him much because of it.
  • Tyson LOVES loves loves to fake choke. Just a week before his 1st birthday he literally was choking. Tay had to hit him on the back 5 times before the food popped out and it was scary! But since then, he is always fake choking. It is so strange. And then once he sees a reaction out of us he will just start laughing. Stinker!
Well that is it. Tyson is a little BIG ball of pure love. He brings so much happiness to our family. I can't imagine life without him. I am excited to see him grow and learn new things as he gets older and see what an awesome brother he will continue to be!

Tyson 11 Months

It is unreal that Tyson will be 1 by the end of this month! They really don't stay babies for very long. It's so sad, and so fun at the same time! I can't wait to take his birthday pictures this month!!!
  • His theme song is "Tyse Tyse Baby, dun dun dun dunna dun dun" and we all sing it over and over again.
  • Tyson is my chub chub. Recently both my sister and little brother  (separate from one another) commented about how Tyson just looks like a football player. I hope not! Yikes, I do not need any more head injuries in my life!!
  • He refuses to crawl to his bottle and pick it up, he will just whine for it until I lay him down and plop it right in his mouth for him. Lol. It's like he is too distressed that he is seeing it and wants it that it temporarily disables him.
  • He is starting to try and chat with us. His first, and most used word is WOAH! He can say the mamamamama, and dada, sometimes we can get him to say ball (That's always important to teach them their last name first). And mostly I just mean Taylor can get him to say it.
  • He LOVES TO EAT! I can't exaggerate it. He could and would and sometimes does eat a whole package of oatmeal by himself for breakfast. We will be poor so soon.
  • He loves to throw objects.
  • He delights in his sister and she can get him to laugh better than anyone else. His favorite feature is hair, he loves to pull his sisters hair!
  • He is a water creature times a million. He loves water, loves baths, loves to splash and cries when he gets taken out of the tub. It definitely reminds me of his sister. He will even play in the toilet if he is sneaky enough to get in the bathroom without me noticing.
  • He enjoys getting his teeth brushed.
  • Tyson is very content. He will just quietly watch everyone do their thing.
  • He likes crawling up the stairs, and continues to fall down the stairs and cry even though he KNOWS how to go down the right way. Lol.
  • As of late, he spits food out if we stick it in his mouth and then will pick it up and put it in his mouth himself. He is just trying to show his independence.
  • Tyson knows when Kinley is doing something to him that she will get in trouble for. He always will turn and give me a look and then start crying. They are both little trouble makers!
And real quick as a note to myself. I have noticed that Tyson and Kinley share some habits that are not quite "normal," so it is crazy to me that they both do it. They both suck their thumbs, but while doing so, will stroke their eyelashes with their pointer finger. It's so weird to me! But they must love it. I'm not quite sure how they both developed this technique. I catch him in other situations where it definitely reminds me of Kinley, like crying when he gets taken out of the bath. Or even in some of his mannerisms. They're so cute.

10 Months for Tyse Tyse

  • Tyson is 10 months. He goes by Tyson, Baby brother, Baby, Bubba, Mr. Mooky Moo, but most often Tyse Tyse.
  • Tyson for the last 9 months has been the most cuddly little content-to-sit boy on the planet...this last month he has really been wanting to get into things. From my sewing cabinet, to dumping out all the toys we own, this boy sure knows how to keep me cleaning.
  • He LOVES food. LOVES it. He isn't particularly keen on baby food. In fact, he will cry all while he eats baby food until you give him big people food. He loves the satisfaction of chewing on something and working in all the teeth that are ready to pop out.
  • He loves bath time and will often cry if we take him out of the shower before he feels he is ready. Haha.
  • He loves his momma, but probably loves his sister the most out of everyone. He looks to her for everything. In fact, he has even started doing these interesting 'gymnastic stretching' that he sees Kinley doing all the time.
  • He's walking along furniture, but don't try to get him to walk all by himself, he just plops his little butt on the ground as quickly as he can.
  • He wants to be outside all the time. Which makes me sad we don't have a backyard. I just want to move fast so he can have somewhere to play!
  • He's got the sweetest demeanor and the cutest looks. His curly locks have come in and it is just adorable on this little boy.
I was just reading Kinley's 10 month update and realized there were some things I wrote about her that I forgot about with him. The first child gets all the glory! haha.
  • He climbs up stairs. There isn't a whole heck of a lot off opportunity to do so, but he just went for it one day and could do it!
  • Every now and again it sounds like he is saying dada or momma.
  • He loves loves loves the little pedal car we have.
  • He will walk with a walker, but won't even stand on his own. He's being a stinker.
  • He has been in 12 month clothes ever since 9 months and is now moving on to 18 month clothes. Yikes. He's a big boy. I'm sure he will begin to thin out though and we won't get too far ahead of ourselves.
  • He loves playing catch with me. And just like his sister, he is tossing things with his left hand. So we will see. We may have two lefties on our hands. ;)
Does he not just look like a little MAN?! SO handsome!

Yum yum food and drooling.

He spends most of his days by this kitchen.

Bed head.

Rain makes mud. Mud makes this boy happy.

I love them!

He makes a pretty little girl too! ;)

9 Months

Taylor reminded me Tyson has been alive outside of my body as long as he was inside. So that's always fun! Haha.

  • Tyson has finally started crawling, as in, he is doing it regularly now. When he crawls he puts his bum way up in the air and tries to stand up...so who knows how long this crawling business will last.
  • He is also trying to pull himself up onto things, which means falling too...and probably many many bruises in the future.
  • Tyson took his first trip to the beach and he LOVED it. I could not believe how much he loved rolling around in the sand and covering himself head to foot with it. He also enjoyed eating it on occasion. Yuck!
  • He is a lover of food, and constantly wants to be snacking.
  • For the last week he has been going through some grueling teething. His nose is constantly running and he is constantly chewing, and he is sad and miserable. They still haven't come through...so let's hope in the next few days it will happen.
  • We finally had to lower his crib from the highest setting. Isn't that crazy!? It wasn't until a week ago that he finally started standing up in his bed. :)
  • Speaking of teething and his bed. It has bite marks on it now. So sad. I don't think Kinley ever did that. So his nice, new, and perfect crib is perfect no more. He is such a little beaver.
  • He is such a little cheeseball. He loves to cuddle and he is a momma's boy. But if daddy will hold him, he doesn't mind that either. He just loves cuddling with the ones he loves.
We love him, obviously. He is so fun to have around and I still feel like I have a baby most of the time because he is staying nice and cuddly. But he weighs almost as much as Kinley, so my arms get tired.

Here is his cheeseball 9 month picture. He is SO handsome! And he gets comments all the time how much he looks like my little brother, Dallin.

Diaper models, these two. This was at the beginning of the month, and Kinley has since been potty trained!

Tyson- 8 Months

8 Is my favorite number. So maybe this will be my favorite month of Tyson.

  • Tyson is all sorts of giggly as of late. It used to be so much work to get him to laugh, but he loves laughing at his sister, and when he is being tickled. He always seems to have this huge open-mouthed grin going on. I love it.
  • Tyson started scooting around. It's barely a crawl, and honestly it seems to be a mix between an army crawl and a zombie crawl. But it is super FUN! I love when my kids get mobile and can chase me around the house.
  • He is loving food a bit more. But mostly whatever we are eating and fruits. If you put vegetables in his mouth, he gags and gags. We will keep trying on that.
  • Tyson sleeps great. It seems his daytime naps are starting to shorten. It makes me sad to lose some of my alone time, but I also love when my kids are awake more simply because it means I get more time with them. Sometimes it seems like they are seriously asleep all day.
  • He rides in his carseat real well these days. Such a plus, especially since it seems we have been spending lots of time in the car.
  • Tyson is a cuddly boy. I really think he loves to be held and to hold me. It is super tender.
  • His third teeth popped through the gum and his 4th is about to do the same.
  • He's a happy boy and VERY well loved by all members of the family. :)
He almost looks older in his 7 month picture.

Tyson 7 Months:

So I have this note thing on my phone that helps me keep track of the things my kids are doing. Tyson is 7 months now and my note reads, "Tyson 6 months" and it is blank after that. So as you can tell, I have not been keeping up very well. Also, note I am a few days late. We were out of town and it was hard!

  • Tyson has still yet to crawl. He rolls over like crazy and that's pretty much how he gets from here to there. For now it is working well for him. If he wants something he rolls around and will even go from back to front to back, never doing a full roll, because it keeps him in basically the same spot but boosts him forward a little to the object of his choice. It seems like so much more effort to do it that way. Haha. Or he will stretch, stretch, stretch his fingers as far as they will go.
  • Tyson got a new car seat for the car. I am in love with it. And I think he is too. He travels pretty well now.
  • Tyson still refuses to eat real food. He's a crazy boy! He just likes milk. If it is anything else he will clamp his mouth shut super tight and turn his head from you and just start crying!
  • Tyson took two trips to Utah this month. He's a traveling pro!
  • We went to Zion last week and he enjoyed looking at nature from his position on daddy's back in the hiking backpack carrier. It was fun! And he did pretty well with it. There were a couple hard moments, but overall he did well.
  • Tyson is a very mellow kid. By that I mean kind of just even keel. He doesn't sway much in emotions and excitement. It makes it all the more fun when he is in a particular giggly mood, which is usually when Kinley is entertaining him.
  • I really can't think of much else. He's just a good little baby and well loved. Content to be held, content to be by himself. Life doesn't get much better with that little guy!
  • He is always rolling and flipping his tongue in his mouth. It's crazy the things he can do with his tongue.
He got so stinking big this month!

These two!

Now doesn't he just look like a happy boy?!

Yummy fingers. Constantly in his mouth! Spent way too much time in this thing.

Kinley is 2!!!

Well now I have a 2 year old and a 6 month old! Amazing how much difference that year and a half makes at this age.

Kinley is 2. I wrote about her in my own personal journal but didn't do a blog with pictures. And pictures are my favorite so....

Kinley is a perfect little mix of Taylor and I. At least I think so. She is super fun and energetic, but sweet and well behaved like Taylor. She listens and obeys pretty well (still working out a few kinks with hair pulling and pushing), but overall does well. She loves her baby brother and showers him with love and affection. He is her favorite person, and she is his. It works out well. She is full of laughter and happiness. Oh my goodness, she just radiates happiness. Kinley is beautiful. I look at her and amazed at how beautiful she is and think, "She came from me?!"

Loves:
A few of her favorite things are singing, dancing, playing with her brother, being with her daddy, playing in her kitchen, reading books, doing puzzles, and sucking her thumb. She likes wagon rides, and walks, and being outside. She very much loves to sit in her car seat and loves to play with her cousins. She likes trains and dinosaurs. On occasion she enjoys dressing up with fairy wings and skirts. She loves to swing and go down slides. She is a fabulous little eater and will eat almost anything. She likes getting her teeth brushed and playing in the sink. She loves airplanes and watermelons, and her new squeaky shoes. She loves wearing her sunglasses, and seeing fishes, and giving long kisses with a "muah" at the end. She likes to color and drive cars. She loves to help with Tyson and feed him a bottle. She likes airplanes and wearing hats. She loves helping her daddy with yard work and watching "moomies". She likes cute little monkeys and eating any sort of treat. She likes getting her nails painted and washing her hands.

Hates:
She isn't such a fan of dogs or animals in general. I think she likes them ok from a distance, but if they are jumping on her or around her she just won't have it. She doesn't like being forced to do things, which is a good thing she mostly chooses to do the right thing on her own. She doesn't like getting her hair combed, but occasionally will ask to put her hair in a pony tail. She absolutely HATES getting splashed by the bucket at Cowabunga Bay. She doesn't like when people grab her hand and try to lead or pull her around. She doesn't like when people are in her space.

It was so much easier coming up with the list of things she loves.

She is a people person, happy, energetic, and talkative, but she also will cling to us in moments of unsurety. If she is tired enough she will ask for her bed.

I LOVE HER! And she makes things so fun and exciting. She makes being a mom so fun and entertaining and brings a whole new level of excitement to the ordinary and mundane of life.

Let me go digging for some of my favorite pictures from the last year. I know there will probably be way too many!

2 year old pictures!

And yes, that was way too many, but I LOVE HER! And she is so cute, and we have had so much fun in the last year. :)
