2 Months

I really need to think of a better title for these things...

Kinley is now officially 2 months old! A lot has happened in the month since my last post. Not just with Kinley, but in my own life. Both of my grandfathers passed away within 2 days of each other. It has been a crazy few weeks! But that is all for a post of its own, if I ever decide to share it.

So here is what has been changing with Kinley.
We just love her!
  • She LOVES to stand up. It's like she is done being a baby, she just wants to stand and sit up all the time. It's a little bittersweet.
  • She has been smiling TONS! Oh my. This girls smile lights up my world. I love to see her smile. She is especially happy in the morning when we wake up and I usually can spend about 30 minutes with her in bed just making her smile. It's honestly the best.
  • Kinley got blessed, the Sunday before both of my grandfathers died. It was very special, and I'm grateful that at least one of them was able to make it.  She slept the entire Sacrament meeting. Her Grandma Ball made the beautiful dress and her Grandma Waters made her an amazing blanky and shoes. Such precious treasures!!!
  • For the last week and a half she has slept extremely well. It's been great. But I should probably knock on wood because I know it could change in a second. There hasn't been a night she has slept less than 4 hours straight and most of the time it's between 5 & 6. She's being real good to us.
    • Straight from Heaven.
    • However, she still will only do that in the first stretch. Then she wants to be in our bed. It makes it easier on me, so I don't fight it. But she doesn't sleep as well the second half of the night. That's ok.
  • I can't remember what day it was, but in the last 2 or 3 weeks she moved up to a size 1 in diapers.
  • She has also left all her newborn clothes behind and is wearing 0-3 month clothes. That change has been happening in the last week and a half. It is absolutely CRAZY to think she used to fit in the newborn clothes we have piling up in the "too small" pile.
  • As much as she loves to be played with and held, sometimes she won't stop crying until we put her down and let her be. She enjoys her time alone, free from hugs, kisses, and momma's silly noises.
  • Her favorite spot is on the couch looking out the window. I think she is going to be an outdoor girl, which I love. I can't wait to take her swimming soon!
  • As I said, with my grandfathers dying things have been so busy around here. We were constantly on the go. So this girl got her first taste of formula. She took it just fine, so that was a blessing. But I think she started loving her bottle a little much. I'm pumping a lot more now because she seems to take it better from the bottle. It's not all bad though. When I am bottle feeding her we can stare into each others eyes and I still feel a strong connection to her, perhaps more so than breastfeeding.
  • In the past week she has really started talking to me. It's AMAZING! She goos and gahs and smiles and just thinks she is having a little conversation. It is probably my most favorite thing right now. LOOOOOVE!
  • She weighs 11.5 pounds and is 22.5 inches long (Just by my measurements, which could be way off since she's so wiggly, but I did my best).
Love those jammies! She doesn't fit in them anymore. :(
Aimee and Peggy came to visit. SO FUN! Kinley loved them :)

She's getting chubbier!

BLOG URL

We changed our blog URL...not that anyone noticed. Haha. But good job everyone was chosen previously because of a little secret funny story that happened between me and Taylor 3 years ago when we were still dating. So we are kinda overdue for change. Taylor is constantly saying "Ball don't lie." Whether it is during a basketball game or just being repeated over and over (AND OVER) again to Kinley so she will know to say it during a basketball game, at some point in the future, when she can talk. During a game once he was reading the coaches lips and he said "Ball don't lie" and Taylor got so excited and rewinded and had me watch it while he excitedly and proudly said it out loud. I can't express how much he loves this saying. Then the other day I was telling Taylor a story and he said, "You're lying." And I pointed to myself and said, "Ball don't lie" (I'm so clever).  So I believe this will be a family slogan or something for us from this time forward.

A Weekend In Pictures

Last weekend we went to my grandparent's cabin in Duck Creek (just up Cedar Mountain). It was a lot of fun. For one thing, it was Kinley's first little trip out of Nevada. I was nervous about packing for a little baby (overpacking, underpacking), but I think we packed just about perfect for her. Also, we met Trevor's girlfriend. We liked her. Third, we got to ride four wheelers and get out on some real nature walks. And lastly, we got to get away from technology and just enjoy family. Here are some pictures :)

I LOVE this picture. You know what they say, a picture's worth a thousand words!
I just had to keep snapping pictures of her in this little hat. She looked soooo cute! I'm pretty sure my great grandma crocheted this, but no one could remember for sure.
Grandpa, Taylor, and Kinley. We tried to get Camden in but he was being shy and ran away.  Little nerd.
And since I never get pictures with her :) Taylor gets photo credit on this one. And actually, I really like it.
Like I said, couldn't get enough of this cute girl in her hat. Taylor took this one. Which actually I like more than the one I took of her. Haha.
My awesome, athletic momma. This was her returning from her bike ride on the mountain. She was telling us all about how she "almost died."
Cute little Camden. He was being so difficult about getting his picture taken.
Then I took the opportunity to get some family photos of us with the beautiful landscape. Family pictures are hard when no one in your family takes pictures. Haha. I tried to direct my dad and sister on how to do it but it just doesn't turn out the same as when I take pictures. Unfortunately I can't take them of myself but I'm grateful they tried and we actually got a few good photos. THANKS!
